How We Get to You
Gadsden sits about 12 miles from our shop in Jackson, and we run trucks out that way as part of our regular coverage. We don't keep a depot in Gadsden itself - nobody out here does - so every job starts with a drive, not a walk across a parking lot. That's worth saying plainly instead of pretending otherwise. What it means in practice is we batch calls when we can and we're upfront about timing rather than promising something we can't back up from 12 miles away. The route in is straightforward, which helps, but we're not going to tell you we've got a crew sitting around the corner. We don't.
We treat Gadsden the same as the rest of our service area in terms of the work itself: same trucks, same parts stock, same technicians who handle Jackson jobs in the morning and Gadsden jobs in the afternoon. The distance just means we plan the day around it.
What That Means for Doors
The median home in Gadsden was built around 1968, which puts it earlier than a lot of the broader service area's 1960-2004 spread. That matters more than it sounds like it should. A door and opener setup installed or replaced in a house from that era is more likely to be running on older extension-spring hardware bolted to the sides of the track, instead of the torsion-bar setup over the header that became standard later. Extension springs wear differently, they fail louder, and the safety cables that are supposed to catch a broken one aren't always there on an older install that's never been touched.
If your house in Gadsden still has its original door or opener from that build era, don't assume a
